Today, while the list is not as comprehensive as dedicated streaming devices (like Amazon’s Fire TV or Roku), most of the major UK streaming services are there – but not all.

Since its launch, Sky has kept adding Freeview channels and premium streaming services and apps to Glass. That was a significant change for Sky, along with the promise of contract-free content (so you don’t have to get a fixed long-term contract with Glass). One of Sky’s 4K QLED TV’s prominent features is the ability to stream Freeview channels (as well as Sky’s own channels) via broadband – without an aerial or a satellite dish.

In addition to Sky’s channels and the Freeview channels, it also includes streaming apps – much like other streaming devices. The streaming-based TV from Sky, Sky Glass has been around since 2021, marking the first step in Sky’s shift towards streaming services.
